We offer “reminders” when your records need updating, in order to make things easy for you.
All dogs must show recent fecal parasite testing and clearance. This includes an initial baseline fecal test as well as an annual fecal floatation thereafter.
Should the fecal test be positive, your dog must be treated and an additional negative fecal test be conducted before attending.
Dogs must be reasonably clean and groomed. Afterall, they are guests in our home.
Dogs are not welcome if they are ill or suffering from communicable maladies. Just as you would keep a child home from school, if they were ill, please wait until parasite issues or contagious infections or viruses have completely cleared up before returning to daycare or boarding.
When requested, medications are given without charge.
Shelter dogs recently adopted may not attend daycare without adequate quarantine period in their new home.
Behavior: We will observe your dog closely during the first day, and carefully introduce him to the social atmosphere of daycare. When we feel a bit of guidance would be helpful, your dog will receive one on one individual training help. This is offered in your regular daycare services. Family style board criteria must be met.
We do require the owner to fill out a personality profile for each dog, to help us best transition him into the routine. If there have ever been any behavior issues, please inform us. We will give your dog the special attention he needs to overcome his issues. If your dog needs special handling, we will do all we can to help. That is why we are here....to help your dog.
Owners must certify in writing that there have been no aggression issues either with humans or animals. Safety and health are our primary concerns. GDA reserves the right to deny membership to any dog deemed dangerous or of risk to our members. Assessments will be made prior to attendance and if any dog displays anti-social behavior at any time, they will be excused.
Owners must sign our handling responsibility agreement, giving us full charge of your pet, while in our care. Also, owners must sign a standard medical treatment agreement, giving us permission to seek medical help in case of emergency. Of course, every attempt to contact the owner, in case of an emergency, is made by Good Dog Academy & Daycare. Complete financial responsibility and liability is to be signed and agreed to by the owner.
We have a minimum manners criteria for Family Style Boarding. This ensures that all dogs are in a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere.
The criteria covers basic manners, such as the ability to walk respectfully on leash, dogs are expected to be potty trained ( puppies excepted ), crate trained or able to respect baby gates or a closed door, and most importantly, NO aggression issues.
Regular attendance is required, so your dog is familiar and comfortable with the facility and regular dogs in attendance. We strive to be your dogs’ home away from home and promote doggie friendships. This is a place of familiarity and comfort.
Our guests’ safety and comfort levels are our biggest concerns.
Pickups and Drop-offs: We will keep a list on file of all people authorized to pick up dogs from our facility. If you ever wish for someone other than those listed to take your dog home, you must make prior arrangements.
Reservations and Cancellations: Reservations are required for shuttle service, daycare and boarding. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance, or a penalty charge will be due. Boarding cancellations require a 72 hour notice. Waiving this is at the sole discretion of management. There will be a waiting list for many days and we wish to accommodate everyone when possible.
Holiday periods may require a non-refundable reservation pre-paid fee of 10%-50% of boarding estimate. This will apply to boarding bill and not reflect additional costs.
***All dogs being dropped off for daycare are expected to be here before 10am and pick up can be no later than 6pm. We will always make every attempt to accommodate any given situation. All we ask is that you communicate any and all special requests at the earliest opportunity, so we may plan accordingly.
Saturdays and Sundays have strict arrival and departure times 10:00AM ONLY. Staff is limited and these are lesson days. We must have communication if running early or late.
If pickup is made after hours and no provisions have been made, Each hour, or fraction thereof will incur the training rate of $40 per dog additional.
Boarding check-in is flexible within daycare hours. Checkout, however, is to occur by 10am, or daycare rates and times will apply to that day.
